Can you believe it? People spend billions of dollars on diet books, the latest diet crazes, miracle diet drugs, and different medical procedures that help people get rid of fat. Isn’t it ridiculous? These weight loss manufacturers are making money, hand over fist, and getting rich by taking advantage of people who just want to look good and be healthy.
Today, people are spending so much money on trying to lose weight that they don’t see the root causes of their problem. So many people want to lose weight last year, last week, or yesterday. When will people figure out that we are all products of our environment regardless of what country or century we happen to be born in? Oh, The Caveman Days!
Have you ever seen a fat caveman? How many pictures of fat caveman have you ever seen? You’ve never seen a fat caveman or pictures of one because obesity never happened back at the beginning of civilization. A caveman’s diet was completely natural and different back then. Early food sources during caveman times that where available where very basic and provided only the necessities for survival and growth.
Cavemen lived on Mastodon meat, berries, roots, and fish. There where no Snickers, Little Debbie Oatmeal pies, Lays Potato Chips, or Coke. If you look back at their food, they had a balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fats every day of the year. There where no drive-thrus, convenience stores, or other fast food joints.
Cavemen didn’t know what microwave meals where or prepackaged foods. Mastodon meat never came prepackaged with noodles or potatoes for a quick and easy meal. There was no such thing as sugar, flour, or manufactured fats that led to heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and a host of other health problems. Combine that with the fact that they burned all their extra calories off by walking for miles every day in search of food.
Then Came The 19th Century
When I looked at books from the 19th century and see pictures of people inside, I can’t remember seeing any people who where fat or obese. Obesity was not a major issue during this time. Most people where average-sized and maybe the odd person would be obese.
The people of the 19th century had better food choices that where available at the time. They didn’t have fast food, chemical additives, force-fed animals, pesticides, and fertilizers. They also didn’t have a killer variety of hydrogenated fats that people are exposed to on a daily basis like we do now. Many where farmers and grew their own food naturally.
As a population, they where probably healthier. People had to do their own farming with primitive tools and plows and this kept them in shape. Their modes of transportation where less convenient and people used their own power to get around. They simply lived a healthier lifestyle and where exposed to more fresh air, sunshine, and better food choices.
Do Like The Caveman Did
People in today’s society say they can’t lose weight. They should forget the fancy diets and think about eating like a caveman for 6 to 8 weeks. If they eliminate wheat, sugar (or any type of sweetener), packaged food, processed food of any kind, canned food, sodas, and dairy products, they can definitely lose weight. So in other words, no bread, buns, muffins, cake, cookies, donuts, soda, chocolate, sweeteners, hot dogs, hamburgers, milk, ice cream, bacon, cheese, sausages, packaged meat, canned food, beer (regular and lite), alcohol, and the list goes on and on. This type of food is slowly killing us and putting more money in the pockets of companies with weight loss programs and products.
If we stick to fresh or frozen vegetables, eggs, butter, whole grains like brown rice and oatmeal, potatoes, coconut oil, olive oil, water, nuts, black coffee or herbal tea, beef twice a week (if desired), fish (canned tuna and salmon okay), chicken, turkey, lamb, and limit our fruit intake because they are high in sugar.
Do A Little Exercise
While you give this diet a try, get out there and do a little exercise. It would hurt if you go for a walk, ride your bike, or maybe go for a swim for at least 3 or 4 days a week. At least go exercise and get your heart rived up for about 45 minutes to an hour. This will make your heart stronger and with the loss of weight, reduce your chances of a heart attack or stroke. Do “something” physically for a change and with the caveman diet and the exercise, you can lose weight naturally.
Change Your Life For The Better
